Soul Grind — Your lead foot is turned outward with the sole/boot grinding, while your other foot rides on the groove/side. Approach the ledge or rail, jump onto it, and lock your soul foot onto the edge.
Mizou — Similar to a Soul, but your back leg crosses behind your front leg. Lock your soul foot onto the ledge and cross the other skate behind it.
Makio — A Soul Grind where you grab your trailing skate with your hand. Jump into the soul position, grab the back skate, and keep your body low.
Acid — A Soul Grind with the grinding foot positioned more underneath you and the other skate turned across the obstacle. The key is getting the soul foot locked while keeping your hips open.
Royale — Both skates are grinding, with your knees bent and hips dropped low. Your feet are turned so the frames/boot edges slide while your body sits between the skates.
Frontside — You approach with your chest facing the obstacle and grind with both skates. The exact foot position depends on the obstacle and variation.
Backside — You approach with your back toward the obstacle. Jump and turn your body so your skates lock onto the obstacle behind you.
Unity — A grind where your legs cross, with one skate positioned in front of the other. Keep your hips turned and your knees bent.
Savannah — Similar to a Unity, but with the legs crossed in the opposite direction. The important part is getting both skates locked securely.
Pornstar — A Soul-style grind with your legs crossed behind you. One skate is locked in the Soul position while the other crosses behind.
Fishbrain — A Soul grind while grabbing your soul foot with your opposite hand. Drop low, lock the grind, and reach down for the skate.
Kind Grind — A grind where the skates are positioned in a crossed/angled position, creating a locked-in look similar to a Royale variation.
Darkside — A grind where you lock onto the opposite side of the obstacle compared with a normal Soul. It requires turning your hips and getting comfortable grinding "backward" on the obstacle.
X-Grind — Your legs cross into an X shape while both skates grind. Jump onto the obstacle and cross your legs as you lock in.
Torque Soul — A Soul variation where you twist your body and put extra pressure through the soul foot. Think Soul Grind with a stronger body rotation.
Fahrvergnügen — An advanced grind involving a heavily crossed/twisted position. The name is German for roughly "driving pleasure." It's best learned after being comfortable with Unity/Savannah-style grinds.
Tabernacle — An advanced crossed-leg grind variation. Your legs and hips rotate into an unusual position while maintaining contact with the obstacle
